WHAT IT DOES

A power planer is an electric tool that is used to take off small amounts of wood by shaving it off. You can use it to smooth the surface of rough wood or to take off some wood that is too small to saw, such as trimming the bottom of a door that is catching the carpet. The tool works by using two or three rotating blades on the bottom.

If you need to take off bigger amounts of wood, you might be better off by using a saw (either hand or electric).
